The YPO is an integral part of the Yavneh ‘family’ and community, contributing in significant ways to the activity and enhancement of our College. Our main activities are fundraising for the College to provide resources that might otherwise not be available and the establishment and promotion of active social forums to enrich the fabric of the school community.

We encourage participation by all members of our parent body.  At regular meetings, which are open to all parents, we discuss upcoming events, assist with any planning and discuss relevant issues. We actively engage with the parent body, communicating with parents about our activities and upcoming events through our Facebook page, the College App (Schoolstream), and articles and notices in the Kesher, the College’s weekly newsletter.  We also co-ordinate a class convenor system which serves to facilitate information flow and create networking opportunities for parents.

Examples of activities run by the YPO include Family Days at the College, the annual Gathering for Good function, Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day stalls for kindergarten and primary students, the Corporate Breakfast and movie nights.

Over the past few years, the YPO has provided funds for many improvements to the College including the adventure garden for junior primary students, the outdoor running track and accompanying areas, high tech sound equipment in the new College Hall and a state of the art outdoor learning area for the ELC. Funds from current YPO activities have recently been directed to a playground upgrade at the Elsternwick campus.
