As Head of Secondary School, Amanda Samson (PhD, M.Ed (Ed. Mgmt), P.G Dip.(Couns.), B.Ed, M.A.C.E.) is committed to articulating a 21st century vision based on academic excellence and framed with an evidence based and contemporary approach to wellbeing. She is a co-founder of Mindful School Melbourne and Wellbeing Leaders Melbourne educational groups. Dr Samson has held leadership positions in wellbeing and pastoral care at St Michael’s Grammar School in St Kilda where she developed and implemented a K to 12 positive learning curriculum as well as wellbeing programs tailored for adolescent needs. Prior to this she worked in London, building strong student welfare and blended learning in undergraduate degrees. Dr Samson obtained her Bachelor of Education from the University of Melbourne where her love of language and linguistics began. In 2001 she was awarded her Doctorate in Philosophy and more recently completed the Masters of Education focusing on management and leadership. Whilst in London she attended the University of Greenwich, studying psychology and psychotherapy.  Building learning communities to create sustainable change and which are agile and forward thinking forms the basis of her leadership approach.
