As Principal and CEO, Cherylyn Skewes (M.Ed (Curriculum and Administration), B.A., Grad. Dip. Ed., G.A.I.C.D., M.A.C.E.) oversees Leibler Yavneh College’s teaching practices and acts as the custodian of its educational vision. She is responsible for strategic planning, as well as the development of innovative educational projects, ensuring that the College continues to meet the challenges of the future with confidence. She is also responsible for maintaining consistency of policy and application across the Early Learning Centre, Primary and Secondary Schools.

Ms Skewes was the Principal of Annesley College in Adelaide and a Board Member of South Australia’s Association of Independent Schools. In 2008 she joined Annesley, a then ELC – Year 12 independent boarding school for girls, where she has served as Principal with distinction. Prior to Annesley, Cherylyn spent 11 years at St Peter’s College in Adelaide, one of Australia’s largest and most prestigious independent schools for boys. As Assistant Head of the Senior School, she was the first female in St Peter’s 150-year history to be appointed to a senior management role. Previously, Cherylyn was Head of the Middle School (Y8-Y10) at Adelaide’s Reynella East, a 1,800 student prominent ELC-12 college. Cherylyn has a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Administration Studies (Deakin University), and a Graduate Diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Arts from Adelaide University. Cherylyn brings to Yavneh a wealth of experience in school leadership, teaching and learning, student wellbeing and professional management. She has provided exceptional vision and strength of leadership to her previous school through a period of unprecedented change and restructure. In her previous four schools, Cherylyn established a track record of consummate professionalism, uncompromising integrity, collaborative management, commitment to a culture of excellence, and a passion for continuous improvement in all aspects of educational delivery.
