Leibler Yavneh College was founded at a site in Balaclava Road, Caulfield North, in 1962 with 53 students across Kindergarten, Prep and Grade 1.
With existing Jewish schools already in existence, Yavneh was established with the express purpose of providing an education for children seeking excellence in both Jewish and General Studies. The College produced its first Year 6 graduates in 1966 and for the next 13 years operated solely as a primary school.
In 1979 a secondary school was opened on a site in Mercer Road, Armadale, and six years later Leibler Yavneh College proudly presented its first VCE graduates. By 1989 the College was expanding at a rate that necessitated larger premises to cater for its growth in students. This led to the purchase of the current Slezak Campus in Elsternwick, which today accommodates more than 650 students from Prep to Year 12. The remaining Creche, Junior and Senior Kindergarten students (totaling 120) are accommodated at the Abeles-Liberman Pre-school in Balaclava Road, Caulfield.
